Abstract

The present case report is aimed at describing this specific type of periodontal surgery, using piezoelectricity in the correction of gingival smile in the upper arch of the anterior region for aesthetic purposes. After the anamnesis and clinical examination, a surgical intervention was proposed using a clinical crown-lengthening technique using piezoelectric ultrasound that has the potential to remove the bone tissue without causing damage to the root surface and soft tissue and reduced postoperative discomfort. It can be concluded that the use of the piezoelectric ultrasonic device for clinical crown-lengthening proved to be indicated for surgical procedures with minimal trauma to the soft tissues. It has an advantage in selective and precise cutting only in bone, clean surgeries minimal bleeding and efficiency in the power of the device.
